Sarah Conan has just been elected Miss Brittany 2021. She will therefore represent this region during the Miss France 2022 competition. In parallel with her mandate, she is also a student at Rennes School of Business. She looks back on her journey and how she juggles between her internship and the election which will arrive in December.
The journey of Sarah Conan, Miss Brittany 2021
Sarah Conan completed her studies at Rennes 2 University, in Economic and Social Administration, between 2017 and 2020. In 2020, she joined Rennes School of Business via parallel competitive examinations, in the first year of her master’s degree. Currently, Sarah Conan is in a gap year, an educational system which allows her to have more time to prepare for Miss France 2022.

Why did you want to do Miss France?
I chose to register for Miss France because I wanted to live a new adventure, an atypical experience. It is important, both professionally and personally, to have these experiences to gain a certain open-mindedness, gain self-confidence and learn to speak in public. I said to myself why not and it worked!
I also wanted to register for Miss Brittany to make those close to me proud. It created a great emotion among them. This is what I am looking for to have very beautiful memories.
Miss France, a childhood dream?
It was only very recently that I wanted to embark on the Miss France adventure, but it remains a little girl’s dream. For a very long time, every year, I have watched the competition on television. It’s magical.
How did your loved ones react when you registered for Miss Brittany? And when you were elected?
They were very happy, very proud and really very invested. At the time of the election, there was a real wave of emotion. Only this competition can provide this feeling.

Why was it important for you to study?
I love studying, I’m passionate about it and I don’t want it to stop! I would like to continue after my master’s degree. It’s important to educate yourself and continue to have an open mind, to learn. Once you have finished your studies, it is true that you are less immersed in this general culture and this entrepreneurial spirit.
How do you manage to reconcile your studies and your missions as Miss Brittany?
I am currently in a gap year between my master 1 and my master 2. I am lucky to have joined a startup which allows me to organize my time independently. Currently, I am in the middle of a photo shoot, during the week, and I can take some time to do it. If I had had a job that required me to work 9 to 6, it might have been more complicated.
What is your current position?
I am a communications and marketing assistant in a small startup.
How will you adapt if you are elected Miss France 2022?
Being Miss France means exercising a full-time mandate. I would pause my studies to devote myself to the Miss France year, but I would resume my master 2 year to obtain my diploma. It is very important for me to finish my studies. On the other hand, the mandate of Miss Bretagne allows me to follow my studies.
What job would you like to do when you grow up?
In the short term, I would like to be a product manager in marketing. In the long term, I would like to move towards a management position, but still in the marketing sector. I’m aiming more for a job as a marketing director, then.
