A few months ago, Kamélys and Mathias founded the association “Les égarés du sofa” with one idea in mind: to highlight, thanks to video portraits, the professions of ecological and social transition that it is possible to practice after leaving business school. We met them on the occasion of the publication of their first video.
Can you tell us about your background in a few words?
Kamélys: I am originally from Seine-Saint-Denis, where I obtained a bac S before doing ECS prep at Stanislas, in Paris. I graduated from Audencia in 2020 and have had various experiences in cinema and CSR.
Mathias: Like Kamélys, I graduated from Audencia in December 2020. I completed my internships in the associative world and in the social and solidarity economy, and had my first job in CSR consulting. Before that, I did ECE preparation in Valbonne, near Antibes.
What does your project consist of and how did it come about?
The lost on the couch: During our studies, we became aware of the seriousness of the ecological and social situation. Even if we always wanted to pursue a job that was meaningful to us, from that moment on, these themes, which we addressed during our course at Audencia, became obvious for the rest of our career. course. However, at the end of our course, when looking for a first job, we realized that it was difficult to decide on the path to take.
For us, as for the many students we met whose life goals have completely changed in recent years, the range of possibilities was very wide, almost too wide! So much so that we had difficulty identifying the competition for certain positions, assessing the veracity of the commitment displayed by certain organizations, understanding where we could really be useful…
Our project, “Employed jobs, the faces of change”, is based on this observation. The idea is to meet 30 Audencia graduates who lead committed careers, all over the world, and to produce video portraits broadcast on social networks (Instagram / YouTube / Linkedin). The ways to get involved and contribute to change are almost endless, and lifting the veil on some of them seems to us to be a good way to answer questions and encourage vocations!
Can you tell us more about the exact organization of the project?
The Lost of the Couch: Our journey will last a year, the first stages having started in June in France and Italy. From July to September, we will go to Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain. We will reach these countries by train or by bike and, throughout the project, we will avoid the plane. If we nevertheless have to take it, in particular to cross the oceans, we will compensate for CO2 emissions by contributing to the restoration or preservation of forest environments, and by participating financially in carefully selected compensation projects. In September, depending on the health context, we will specify the rest of our itinerary.
There will be around two video portraits broadcast each month on our social networks, the first having just been published! Exceptionally, it is available on the YouTube account of La Banque Postale, one of our two partners on this project.
Can you tell us a few words about your partners?
The Lost on the Couch: We were able to set up this project thanks to the support of our partners: Audencia and La Banque Postale. We wanted to work with these organizations because they are involved in themes directly linked to the project.
“Bank and citizen”, La Banque Postale has focused its CSR policy around two major themes: social inclusion and social cohesion, and sustainable finance. For example, it is within the framework of the first that “L’Envol, the campus of La Banque Postale”, is included. This association works for equal opportunities by supporting the educational careers of young people from modest backgrounds. Concerning sustainable finance, La Banque Postale is taking numerous actions, its asset management company having even become “the first general asset manager in France to offer a range of open funds 100% labeled “ISR Label””.
Audencia, a school for which CSR has always been essential, has unveiled its “ECOS2025” strategic plan built on 4 main axes aiming for a positive impact on society and the planet. The first announces the creation of Gaïa, the first school launched by a business school and entirely dedicated to training in managerial practices for the ecological and social transition. Each student will have to pass through it during their course. Audencia aims to invent a new, more virtuous business school model thanks to the projects, research and training it develops. This model aims to train managers who put their hybrid skills and their ability to innovate at the service of the transformation of organizations and society, in order to work for the common good.
