Every year, the TEE association, Total EDHEC Entreprendre, organizes a startup competition. The objective. ? Helping young entrepreneurs develop! Focus on the 2021 edition of the competition and the association’s other initiatives.
Who are the organizers of the TEE competition?
TEE (Total EDHEC Entreprendre), the entrepreneurial association of EDHEC Business School, has been organizing one of the first startup competitions in France for 26 years. It brings together 44 passionate students, including 20 in the first year, who aim to promote entrepreneurship and help young and innovative startups to develop. The association is divided into 4 poles: the partner pole, in charge of canvassing the prices, the communication pole, which ensures the visibility of the competition, the events pole, which takes care of logistics, and the startups pole, which approaches some of the participating startups.
The projects of the TEE association
Several projects are implemented during the year by the TEE association. The TEE competition, of course, but also Edhec startup consultancy (ESC), the Inter-Association pitch competition within the EDHEC Business School, the entrepreneurship for all initiative and “TEE tested”.
ESC
Launched last year, ESC aims to help young startups prepare a complete file that meets the expectations of future investors. This help is intended to be effective and adapted, so it comes in several components. The support can relate to the creation of a solid business plan likely to attract investors, to the way in which financial tables are created or even on writing and practicing the pitch, the essential tool of the entrepreneur.
Inter-Association pitch competition
Born in 2011, the Inter-Association Competition (CIA) aims to reward the three best social and/or innovative associative projects from EDHEC, at the very beginning of the academic year. It is the school’s event that brings together the most students on campus, with nearly 1,000 people in 2019. In 2020, the prizes were awarded by BNP Paribas, EDHEC and WebMyDay.
The entrepreneurship for all initiative
Raising awareness among young people from less open backgrounds about entrepreneurship seemed obvious to us. The members of Total EDHEC Entreprendre therefore work in middle and high schools classified as ZEP in the European Metropolis of Lille in order to show everyone that it is possible to be an entrepreneur whatever your background, because diversity is an opportunity when you undertakes.
TEE tested
This year, the association’s students launched “TEE tested”. As the name of the project suggests, it involves testing startup products in order to provide detailed feedback on social networks and to entrepreneurs. From solar lighters to period panties to a red light lamp for falling asleep, the members of the association make astonishing discoveries.
Why is the TEE competition made for you?
TEE is the first startup competition organized by students in France. With €350,000 in grants for nearly 200 candidates in 2019, this startup competition has become an unmissable event for startups, large companies and the public. We think of Pumpkin and Groover who are former winners.
This competition takes place in two main stages. First of all, there is the Grand Writing phase where the competition partners select around fifteen of the most promising business plans from among the applications received. The selected startups can present themselves at the Grand Oral where they are invited to make a pitch lasting a few minutes. Following the candidates’ pitches, a cocktail takes place with the partners, the juries, any media present and the students, which allows the candidates to develop their network.
For the 2021 edition of the TEE competition, all candidates will be able to benefit from feedback on their business plan. The entrepreneurs whose projects are the most promising will be awarded prizes by the juries. Whether it is support for financial management, cash prize of several thousand euros or the loan of a 100% electric car, our partners have thought of everything! Ten prizes will be offered by our partners: Total, BNP Paribas, IBM, Réseau Entreprendre Nord, Capgemini Invent, LINK, Honda, Keyrus Foundation, Shearman & Sterling.
For this 2021 edition, we will have the chance to welcome as godfather and godmother Nathalie Balla, CEO of La Redoute, and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce and Crafts in the governments of Alain Juppé, between 1995 and 1997, and Prime Minister under Jacques Chirac, from 2002 to 2005.
