Darès has just published its study which looks at the professions that will be in demand in 2030. Commerce, IT, industry… Business Cool tells you everything about the sectors that are recruiting and the jobs in which you should put everything into during your studies.
Darès is the Directorate for the Animation of Research, Studies and Statistics, a department of the Ministry of Labor which focuses on subjects related to employment, recruitment, etc. For several years, the institute has been conducting a survey to find out more about the professions that will be in demand by 2030 and the way in which the sectors will evolve in a post-health crisis context.
Grandpa boom, mobility, technological development… Factors for the evolution of professions by 2030
Why will so many professions be recruiting by 2030? Before finding out more about these jobs of the future in which you will have every chance, it is important to understand why certain sectors will experience needs, or even shortages, by 2030.
The first phenomenon is what we call the grandpa boom. Indeed, by 2030, companies will experience significant waves of retirement. In question? The generation of baby boomers born in the mid-1960s who are reaching the age of leaving working life in the 2020s. Thus, the report indicates that “ 7.4 million people would leave their job at the end of their career, or 673,000 on average each year. » The sectors most affected should be the medical and agricultural worlds as well as industry.
Of course, this phenomenon is accompanied by an expected net job creation of 11%. The remaining 89% of jobs to be filled will therefore be replacements for retirements. In addition, professional mobility and career changes are increasingly frequent and reinforce recruitment needs in certain sectors, particularly at the CSP/CSP+ level.
The other problem that Darès observes is the low attractiveness of certain professions necessary for the French economy, coupled with higher graduation rates for future generations. Thus, the world of construction, agriculture or housekeeping will be strongly affected by a shortage due to the arduousness of the work and the lack of labor in this world.
In addition, other sectors will have difficulty recruiting simply because they offer jobs of the future. These are areas which are developing at great speed and will be at the heart of tomorrow’s challenges, such as IT or industry.
Sectors that will develop in 2030
Several sectors of activity will experience a real boom by 2030 and this is why they will be vectors of jobs. Among them, we find health professions and, more particularly, those linked to vulnerable populations. This is explained by a general aging of the French population. Of course, other professions will be recruiting by 2030, such as business services, construction, driven by renovation needs, tourism and IT.
ESNs (digital service companies) are really at the heart of the recruitment waves that the world of work will experience between now and 2030. Indeed, these are developing, in parallel with the ever-increasing introduction of technologies in companies . They house computer engineers and study and research personnel who rank among the professions that will be most sought after by 2030. It is estimated that there will be 115,000 and 50,000 job offers respectively for these two. jobs in the next eight years. R&D departments, particularly in space and aeronautics, are also expected to grow during this decade.
Darès indicates that companies will recruit more and more talents with degrees from higher education establishments. Thus, bac+3 and bac+5 level diplomas will be more decisive than ever for certain departments, such as sales, IT, finance, accounting or everything related to administration.
The most sought-after professions in 2030
So which professions will experience the strongest growth between now and 2030 for higher education graduates? As mentioned, some are directly linked to the aging of the population which will have to be taken care of, but which will also have to be replaced in the workplace. Others are more linked to technological development and the omnipresence of computing and digital technology in our daily lives.
Thus, it is not surprising to see that nearly 120,000 IT engineers will be sought by 2030, when the recruitment of more than 110,000 midwives is expected in the next 10 years. The industry is developing and reinventing itself, with Industry 4.0 in particular. Thus, more than 80,000 engineering and managerial positions in this sector will open up by 2030.
