Course Croisière EDHEC 2021

The 53rd EDHEC Cruise Race canceled

Despite the involvement of EDHEC teams, the 53e edition of the EDHEC Cruise Race had to be canceled. In question? The health crisis which casts a wind of uncertainty over all events bringing together the public, particularly sporting events.

The EDHEC Cruise Course is one of the biggest student events in Europe. It brings together several thousand students each year during this competition which takes place each year in April. The student members of the association behind the CCE manage one of the largest budgets in France for a student association, a budget of around 2 million euros.

Unfortunately and despite the involvement of the entire team, the EDHEC Cruise Race had to be canceled. This is a hard blow for the members of the association who have worked tirelessly for several months, while the 52e edition, scheduled for April 2020, had already been canceled due to confinement.

Everything you need to know about the EDHEC Cruise Race

The EDHEC Cruise Race usually brings together 3,200 participants over 8 days for three trophies. The first, the Sea Trophy, was created at the same time as the sporting event, in 1969. It is a sailing regatta which sees several thousand athletes divided into more than 200 teams compete. Recently, the student association made it possible to watch the final in 3D on a giant screen.

The other competitions are the Earth Trophy and the Sand Trophy. The first was created in 1994, which consisted of a raid seeing participants compete in more than 10 sports such as run & bikemountain biking or an orienteering race. The second was designed very recently, in 2007. It takes the form of a competition of three sports on sand: beach volleyballTHE beach rugby and beach football. The association also organizes theme days dedicated to all the people who attend these various sports competitions.
