Amazon intends to recruit 3,000 new permanent employees this year, only in France. After creating 4,000 jobs in 2021, the firm is continuing its momentum and wants to hire talent in all sectors.
Every year, Amazon establishes itself as one of the largest recruiters in France. In five years, the e-commerce giant has created more than 10,000 permanent jobs in France. By recruiting 3,000 new people in 2022, Amazon’s total workforce will rise to 18,500 permanent employees in France at the end of the year.
Recruitment at Amazon: Job opportunities in all sectors
By opening 3,000 new permanent positions, Amazon France is recruiting in all sectors, for functions requiring fewer diplomas, but also for more specialized jobs. Among the jobs created by the giant, we find positions such as: logistics operations manager, maintenance technician, supplier relations manager, software developer, product manager, HR manager, management controller, data scientists, etc.
More than a job, Amazon attaches great importance to the development of its employees. The company states that it “ offers innovative training opportunities to its employees, so that they can develop their skills and progress in their careers over the long term. Thus, as part of the “Career Options” program, Amazon offers to finance up to 95% of the educational costs linked to diploma courses of up to four years. » This system is in addition to the Amazon School which allows the company’s employees to enhance their skills by obtaining a diploma recognized by the State.
Amazon also details the other measures offered to employees such as its free share allocation plan, the implementation of bonuses and its commitment to equal opportunities in hiring. The company also specifies that its Gender Equality Index obtained a score of 94/100, one of the highest in France. This is in addition to the Top Employer certification received by Amazon. This label is awarded to companies that work to provide an excellent working environment for their employees.
Working for the French economy
A dimension regularly highlighted by Amazon is its ability to support VSEs and SMEs in their internationalization. Indeed, the marketplace gives small businesses the opportunity to sell their products (and thus boost their sales) all over the world. “ We have invested more than 11 billion euros in our French activities since 2010 in order to serve our millions of customers and support the growth of the thousands of French SMEs who rely on Amazon to develop their activities. Thanks to these investments, Amazon has become one of the main job creators in France », Indicates Frédéric Duval, CEO of Amazon France.
The e-commerce giant claims that its platform has greatly contributed to the development of these small businesses, but also to the creation of jobs in France. Amazon states: “ These SMEs have created 25,000 jobs to support their activity on Amazon. More than 65% of them export their products to customers around the world. » These figures seem to be confirmed by several testimonies, including that of Éric Cairou, founder of jemangefrançais.com, an online delicatessen: “ Today, not only does our company employ 10 people, but it also contributes to the influence of many local artisans and producers throughout France. We are at the beginning of our development and Amazon is a privileged partner. In 2022, we plan to create 4 additional jobs to support the growth of our activity. »
