QJ Paris: The free coworking space for students

At the start of the 2021 school year, the city of Paris set up QJ – for Quartier Jeunes –, a completely free coworking space for all young people and students in Île-de-France. We tell you more about this unique place which has a lot to offer you.

The QJ is a unique place, located in the heart of Paris, Place du Louvre, in the former town hall of the 1st arrondissement. It welcomes young people and students aged 16 to 30, free of charge, and offers them a whole range of services. The city of Paris explains that it is a place “ universal, welcoming, caring and friendly, open without distinction to all young people aged 16 to 30 whatever their profiles: high school students, students, young professionals, volunteers in civic service, young people looking for a job or internship, apprenticeship or volunteering… »

It is a space for meetings and exchanges, with large rooms allowing you to work among entrepreneurs or simply students who are preparing their dissertations. A café area will give you the opportunity to take a short break with a view of an iconic museum: The Louvre.

QJ Paris being a coworking and meeting space intended for 16-30 year olds, they are involved in all decisions concerning the Youth Quarter. The city of Paris has in fact decided to implement atypical governance for this unique place. Thus, the QJ is managed by an advisory committee made up of 4 colleges: a college of institutional representatives and management of Paris, a college of associative partners, a college of businesses and a college of young people, “ who will be required to decide on QJ’s strategy, the issues and the main directions (programming of activities and services) », Explains the city of Paris.

The Youth Quarter is open every day, Monday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the heart of the capital. If you wish to benefit from the different services of the QJ, a program updated is available to you, on the city of Paris website.
