The missions of a parliamentary attaché
In this video, Louis discusses the missions of a parliamentary attaché. He explains in particular that there are two types, those who are on the ground, in the constituency, and those who work in the National Assembly. This is particularly the case of this Audencia graduate.
The main mission of a parliamentary attaché is to ensure the link between citizens and the MP who represents them. Concretely, Louis responds to their requests, meeting local economic and cultural actors, a very rich profession which places him at the heart of citizens’ lives. In addition, he also accompanies the MP with whom he works on the drafting of speeches or amendments.
Working in politics after Audencia
Louis indicates that, at first glance, he did not necessarily feel justified in moving into the political world after having gone to business school. However, he specifies that his experience at Audencia has, on the contrary, prepared him well to exercise the profession of parliamentary attaché. He explains that students who have studied in prep and business school have “ capacities of versatility, rigor and dexterity which [leur] will be useful during these missions within a political cabinet. »
Louis also recognizes that his associative experience at Audencia gave him the keys to approach his daily life more calmly. He was in fact a member of the Isegoria association within which he organized conferences and eloquence competitions. The management school also gave him the opportunity to complete internships within political bodies, notably at the town hall of Tourcoing and with a MoDem deputy.
Finally, one of the big advantages of management schools lies in the offer of double degrees which allowed Louis to join Sciences Po Lille for a year. This experience gave him the skills and network necessary to become a parliamentary attaché.
