The pioneering cosmetics group is launching L’Oréal For Youth, a five-year plan for young students and graduates under 30. The objective? Offer them professional opportunities including permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts, work-study contracts, student jobs and internships. The group is targeting 25,000 recruitments per year!
Young people are at the heart of L’Oréal’s priorities, which continues to build strong relationships with them. The cosmetics leader is also one of the favorite companies of Grandes Écoles students. The group is indeed recognized by young people as being a real “talent factory”. They also highlight its ability to empower them early in their career and to train them constantly.
Thus, L’Oréal intends to strengthen its commitment to the professional integration of young people under the age of 30 in the four corners of the world by launching L’Oréal For Youth. This 5-year plan includes an employment component and an employability component. The group explains: “ the program offers young people multiple professional opportunities to start their careers and concrete actions to develop their employability. »
L’Oréal’s commitment to students and recent graduates in times of crisis
Those under 30 have been seriously affected by the health crisis which has led to an economic recession and a drop in the number of job offers. Young people now believe that companies must commit to their employability by involving them in building the world of tomorrow and by offering them work opportunities and an inspiring environment.
Numerous studies have also demonstrated psychological distress and financial difficulties for most of them. Based on this constant, L’Oréal decided to mobilize and have a real impact on their lives. As a company committed to young people, the group decided to help them achieve their professional goals and flourish in their work.
L’Oréal For Youth: 25,000 professional opportunities each year
L’Oréal fully commits its responsibility to young students looking for jobs, internships or work-study programs. The group’s unprecedented plan has already been launched and includes 18,000 professional opportunities by the end of 2021 (permanent, fixed-term, work-study, student jobs and internships), an increase of 30% compared to 2020. From 2022, and until 2025, the group is targeting 25,000 job offers, internships, work-study programs or student jobs.
In addition to the opening of new positions for young people, the L’Oréal for Youth plan includes other initiatives:
- 100,000 students will have access to “L’Oréal Open University » which provides access to training content and masterclasses to enable them to acquire a large number of essential skills for the future.
- 1,500 dayscoaching bears will be offered each year to students and graduates. They will have access to all the secrets to succeed in their applications and interviews.
- 1,000 literseaders from L’Oréal will mobilize to “mentor” students from disadvantaged backgrounds and to provide skills sponsorship to young social entrepreneurs.
L’Oréal’s commitments do not stop there since for several years it has reserved 10% of internships and 15% of work-study programs for young people from priority neighborhoods. This initiative is obviously continuing.
L’Oreal For Youth : Partnership and awareness on the issue of youth employment
Beyond concrete commitments in terms of employment and employability, L’Oréal has established partnerships to strengthen its impact and take long-term action on the issue of youth employment. En 2021, L’Oréal became a founding member of the most advanced youth program: the GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR YOUTHlaunched by Nestlé. “This leading global movement actively works in partnership with governments, foundations, youth organizations, universities and the private sector to help millions of young people enter the professional world each year,” explains L’Oréal on its site.
