Definition and salary of work-study
Work-study training, as its name suggests, involves alternating teaching and working in a company. This formula has something to please students because it presents very interesting financial advantages: not only does the host company cover the tuition fees through the apprenticeship tax, but the student also receives a salary. ! Remuneration depends on several factors: age, experience, level of studies, etc. However, it is important to note that the salary of the work-study student (the apprentice in fact!) is exempt from social charges. , that is to say that the gross salary in work-study is the same as the net salary.

Work-study in business school
You can start your work-study program from M1 if your school’s courses offer it, but you can also do it only in the last year, provided you find a company!

In particular, she taught me that being an apprentice also allows you to “ receive more housing assistance because you are considered a precarious worker and sometimes the regions can provide additional assistance “.
The aid that accompanies the work-study program
Indeed, apart from the APL, the State also grants Mobili-Jeune housing assistance. This allowance cannot exceed 100 euros monthly and does not go below 10 euros. Rent, salary and the amount of APL received are taken into account when calculating this type of aid. Mobili-Jeune aid concerns apprentices in private non-agricultural companies. It concerns young people hired under apprenticeship or professionalization contracts. This assistance must be requested in the first semester of training.
As for additional aid, it is all different depending on where you live. For example, for everything related to transport, education, catering, accommodation, certain regions offer numerous specific aids for apprentices on certain expenditure items, such as the PACA region which, with its “ZOU” card, offers free home-study journeys by public transport. Others provide financial assistance. The Brittany region, for example, can grant aid of between 400 and 800 euros annually, in two payments directly into the apprentice’s bank account.
