Like every year, the city of Caen is organizing, this Thursday, March 30, 2023, the famous Caen Carnival, the largest student event in France. Today, 45,000 participants are expected, including students from EM Normandie who will have the largest tank.
The Caen Carnival is a highly anticipated annual event in the city of Caen and which takes place this year on Thursday March 30, 2023. This carnival is known for its colorful parades and extravagant costumes, which attract thousands of visitors each year . In 2023, there will be nearly 45,000 participants, compared to 30,000 usually.
The Caen Carnival is marked by a large parade through the streets of the city, where costumed groups, brass bands and floats parade in a musical atmosphere. Carnival participants necessarily wear costumes, sometimes traditional, sometimes extravagant. Alongside the parade, many activities are planned in the streets of Caen.
If the students of EM Normandie are always involved in the Caen Carnival, this year, they benefit from the largest float in the parade on which to perform a guest star. Students from the Carnaval’EMN association have obtained authorization to parade on a 19 ton (compared to the usual 3.5 ton) and will be able to accommodate up to 10 people. Students from the Caen campus of EM Normandie will also be joined by students from other establishments.
EM Normandie students will take advantage of this visibility at the Caen Carnival to bring a CSR dimension. EM’vironnement is joining forces with the city to carry out a major cleaning and waste collection operation the day after the parade. Furthermore, all the materials used for the tank are reusable and will then be dismantled to be used for other constructions.
