Grandes Écoles graduates are on fire at the Tokyo Olympics and the women’s 7s rugby event is no exception to the rule. This year, Chloé Pelle, graduate of Centrale Lille, Lina Guérin, graduate of TBS and their team allowed France to win the silver medal. Discover their journey.
More than 50 athletes representing France come from Grandes Écoles or are currently studying within these establishments. These graduates or students are present in almost all disciplines, but it is especially the women who stand out during these Tokyo Olympic Games.
This year, after several medals in fencing, judo or even rowing, it is the turn of the women’s rugby sevens team to bring home the silver. The French team is made up of a dozen women, almost all of whom have decided to study, and some have even joined a Grande École:

Chloé Pelle’s journey: a passion for rugby discovered in Central Lille
Chloé Pelle was born in 1989 in Paris. If she is today an athlete internationally recognized for her talent in rugby, she played basketball for 12 years. It is only when she joins Central Lille that she discovers a passion for the oval ball.
In 2009, at the age of 20, Chloé Pelle joined the Lille engineering school. She will specialize in engineering and mathematics applied to cryptography. During her student years, she joined the school’s rugby sevens club.
In 2011, she was spotted for her talent and played for the French rugby team to play against Italy. This will be his first international match. She continued with the French team to represent France during the Rugby League World Cup in 2017. At the same time, she joined the French rugby sevens team.
It was in 2018 that Chloé Pelle’s first major victory came. Indeed, with her team, she will arrive 2e at the Rugby 7s World Cup. That year, she left Lille Métropole RCV to join the Stade français in Paris. She then plays as a pillar. 2021 is the year of consecration for the young woman who wins silver at the Tokyo Olympics.
Lina Guérin and Jade Ulutule, TBS graduate and high-level rugby players
Lina Guérin was born in Paris in 1991. Very sporty, she was passionate about rugby, but also tennis, handball, horse riding and athletics. In 2015, she joined the French rugby union team and represented France in the Women’s Six Nations Tournament. In 2016, she became our standard bearer for women’s rugby 7 at the Rio Olympics. Unfortunately, the team did not reach the podium. We’ll have to wait until the Tokyo Olympics to get the silver!
In parallel with her career as a high-level sportswoman, Lina Guérin trained at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, in law and art history. In 2020, she joined TBS and graduated in 2021. At the same time, she also followed a florist CAP.
Jade Ulutule also integrated TBSin 2019. She is following a management course and describes, on her account LinkedInthis training as “ aimed at providing complete control of the management of an entity and the key activities of the managerial function. »
On the rugby side, Jade Ulutule, born Le Pesq in 1992, turned professional in 2010. She joined Stade Rennais that year, then left for New Zealand to play in the national championship with the Auckland team. She joined the French rugby union team for the 2013 Six Nations Tournament, then the French rugby sevens team the same year. Here again, the consecration will come at the Tokyo Olympics for Jade Ulutule who was able to get on the podium with her team.
