Bluedigo announces a fundraising of one million euros

Bluedigo, the French startup which furnishes corporate offices with reconditioned or new eco-responsible furniture, recently announced a fundraising of one million euros. Business Cool spoke with Maxime Baffert, founder and president of Bluedigo, he enlightened us on the projects of this startup!

Everything you need to know about Bluedigo

Who are you ?

Before creating Bluedigo, I worked for around ten years in a very large communications group. In 2019, I want to try entrepreneurship, I am thinking about a model with a positive impact and the circular economy particularly interests me. I have experienced several company moves in the past and I have always felt this same feeling of economic and environmental waste when faced with all the furniture thrown away and incinerated. And that’s how Bluedigo was born!

What does Bluedigo do?

Bluedigo furnishes company offices with reconditioned and new eco-responsible office furniture. More than 100,000 tonnes of office furniture are thrown away each year in France! With Bluedigo, we want to make office furniture circular by giving a second life to quality furniture. We buy furniture from large companies that are moving. We have established partnerships with numerous reconditioned furniture resellers throughout France and we also offer reconditioned furniture from major new furniture brands.

In addition to reconditioned furniture, we also offer new eco-designed office furniture from brands made in France and committed to the circular economy. (Louis, Maximum, Makiba, Tiptoe, Buronomic, Eurosit…). Our bias? Create workspaces with a positive impact with a mix of reconditioned and new eco-responsible furniture! Startups, large groups, coworking, public actors… more than 2,000 clients have already used Bluedigo to arrange their offices (SNCF, Décathlon, Contentsquare, Mediatransports, Agence France-Presse, Malt…).

Why did you raise one million euros?

We raised one million euros in funds to launch the first marketplace for reconditioned office furniture!

Launched at the start of the year, this marketplace will allow us to offer even more reconditioned furniture to our customers by relying on reseller partners located throughout France. The Bluedigo marketplace already brings together more than 30 resellers of reconditioned office furniture and more than 3,500 reconditioned products. With this platform, we wish to bring together the various players in the sector in order to significantly accelerate the development of the reconditioning furniture offering for businesses.

Why did you choose to bring these investors into your capital?

Bluedigo has chosen to bring Manutan and business angels into its capital.

We are very pleased that Bluedigo’s historic investors, including the Manutan Group, are renewing their confidence by supporting the launch of this marketplace. The Manutan Group has decided to make the circular economy a strategic priority and many synergies are possible with Bluedigo.

What will Bluedigo look like in 5 years?

Within 5 years, we hope that reconditioned office furniture will be a real reflex for companies to furnish their offices and that it will represent 50% of the office furniture market! We also hope to be able, in the future, to broaden our horizons and open up to other sectors such as hotels and restaurants where second-hand furniture is only just making its debut today.
