Roxane graduated from INSA Lyon. Specializing in IT, she works at onepoint as a software developer. For Business Cool, she talks about her journey which took her from engineering school to an ESN (digital services company). She also talks about women in Tech and development, a world where they are rarely present and sometimes discriminated against.
In this new series of videos, Business Cool takes you behind the scenes of the most popular companies, but also of the professions that graduates of Grandes Écoles and universities join. This week, it’s Roxane, software developer at onepoint and graduate of INSA Lyon, who takes part in the exercise.
Passion for IT, from INSA to onepoint
In this video, Roxane talks about how her passion for IT was born. While few young women go to engineering schools each year, she chose INSA Lyon, an establishment where she was able to fully experience her studies and community life.
It was during her years of study that she discovered a passion for computers. At the end of her training, Roxane decided to join onepoint, a company that appealed to her both for the atmosphere and for the management. Within the company, she is a software developer. She codes the applications for the clients of this ESN. In particular, she worked on software to anticipate employees’ return to the office after the pandemic.
Women in Tech, Roxane’s testimony
If there are few women in the world of Tech, for Roxane, we must above all succeed in removing mental barriers. On a daily basis, the young woman explains that she observes a rather benevolent welcome from the teams. “ Women will be well received in the teams (…). When we welcome fewer women in teams made up only of men, particular vigilance sets in. »
