Anthony Ledru, SKEMA BS graduate, becomes CEO of Tiffany and Co.

Anthony Ledru, graduate of the 95 class of SKEMA Business School, has been appointed CEO of Tiffany and Co. The brand recently acquired by LVMH has promoted the man who was Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Activities within Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy to head of its new luxury jewelry subsidiary.

It’s official, with the acquisition of Tiffany and Co. by LVMH, the jewelry brand has a new CEO in the person of Anthony Ledru. Indeed, the SKEMA graduate has spent almost his entire professional life in the world of luxury.

Anthony Ledru joined SKEMA Business School in 1992, within the Grande École Program. He graduated in 1995. He then joined CNP Assurances in Argentina, where he stayed for a year, before joining Cartier in 1997. It was this year that Anthony Ledru’s story with luxury began. He will take care of the whole range eyewear of the group’s brands (Montblanc, Alfred Dunhill) in the South America region.

Two years later, he became Senior District Manager of Cartier and managed the distribution of the group’s products in the Caribbean, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. He will win the District Manager of the Year award. In 2001, Anthony Ledru left for New York where he was successively Director Wholesale Division – Eyewear and Senior Director Wholesale Division Eyewear & Accessories for 12 and 6 months. Over the next seven years, Anthony Ledru climbed the ranks within the Cartier company, ending up as Vice President of Retail from 2007 to 2011.

In 2011, the American adventure continues and Anthony Ledru will become Global Vice President of Sales for Harry Winston where he will only have 2 years left to integrate Tiffany and Co. in 2013. His experience in the world of luxury allowed him to immediately join the position of SVP North America. However, he left the iconic luxury jewelry brand to join LVMH where he will be President and CEO Americas of the group, before becoming Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Activities of Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy.

Since the acquisition of Tiffany and Co. by LVMH, the French luxury giant has decided to place at the head of this entity the person who has already operated there: Anthony Ledru. The latter declared, regarding his appointment: “ I am delighted to return to Tiffany, an iconic American luxury brand that I have long admired. (…) I am also returning to a House at the forefront of environmental and industry procurement standards. (…) The possibilities are endless and I look forward to writing this exciting new chapter with Tiffany’s 14,000 employees around the world.”
