This year, more than a hundred training courses are available and you don’t have to pay any tuition fees. Be careful, however, to obtain a certificate, you will sometimes have to pay a few hundred euros (between approximately €170 and €220). Here is the list of 10 free courses to take this summer!
CS50G: to train in video game development
CS50G is the introductory course in video game development. Offered by Harvard Faculty of Arts & Sciences and Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, it extends over 12 weeks with 6 to 9 hours of classes per week.
Within this training, Harvard promises to explore the creation of games from our childhood like The Legend of Zelda Or Super Mario Bros.. In addition, students in the CS50G course will look at 2D and 3D graphics, the main precepts of animation or sound.

CS50X: learn programming with Harvard
THE CS50X is a programming course that has attracted a lot of attention. Indeed, Harvard has announced that it will use artificial intelligence and ChatGPT, from the start of the school year, to train students in computer science and programming.

CS50S: learn to code the easy way
For the most beginners among us, the course CS50S offers a gentle introduction to programming. This free three-week training is aimed at anyone who has no coding skills. The aim is to offer something fun that can keep both adults and children busy.
Indeed, during the CS50S course, Harvard promises to make it possible to learn to write code via a system of graphical elements to drag and drop, like in a puzzle, using the Scratch software. If you need to block off around 3 weeks to complete this free Harvard training, the American university allows you to progress at your own pace.
Master geopolitics with Harvard and its course on contemporary China
Harvard also offers free courses in geopolitics, as evidenced by the course Contemporary China: The People’s Republic, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Within this training, the prestigious American university allows you to better understand how China has developed from 1978 to the present day. You can also learn more about the country’s relationship with Taiwan and Hong Kong. Please note, however: it takes 15 weeks to complete this training, which requires 1 to 3 hours of your time each week.
Train for free in data analysis and data viz with Harvard
Have you always wanted to master the challenges of data analysis? Harvard offers an eight-week course on this subject with Data Science: Visualization. At the rate of 1 to 2 hours per week, you will explore the main principles of data analysis, but also of data visualization, a major challenge for interpreting the data used. This training is based on the statistical programming language R and promises to look at how you can detect problems related to errors or bias.
A free course to master statistics
If you’re not very into dataviz and data analysis, you can always opt for the free 4-week course from Harvard called Statistics and R. This is a great way to introduce yourself to this statistical programming language and introduce the course above.
At a rate of 2 to 4 hours per week, you will explore analyzing data with R. The advantage of this training? You can follow it at your own pace and complete just one of the seven modules or the entire course! Please note, however, that an intermediate level is recommended to follow this Harvard training.
