Amazon is launching a special day, Thursday September 16: Amazon Career Day, an event dedicated to employment. Round tables, personalized coaching and meetings with employees of the Tech giant… Zoom in on everything that awaits you!
This Thursday, September 16, is Amazon Career Day. This event dedicated to employment highlights the talents that allow the giant to establish itself as the key player in e-commerce in France and around the world. But that’s not all! The group has also decided to offer conferences around themes that go far beyond the world of Tech.
The Amazon Career Day program
Participants in this virtual fair will be able to interact with Amazon employees. They will talk about their job, their missions, their daily life, but also the meaning that their job finds within the great machine that is the group.
Conferences with numerous speakers from diverse backgrounds will also be organized throughout the day. The opening plenary is given by the French CEO of Amazon, Frédéric Duval, Jean Bassères, CEO of Pôle emploi, and Myriam El Khomri, former Minister of Labor. Other big names will come to testify and tell their stories, like Justine Ba, entrepreneur and 2021 winner of the French Tremplin, or the great chef Thierry Marx.
Finally, individual and personalized coaching sessions will be held during the event. These free sessions will allow participants to learn more about Amazon’s recruitment processes, but also to prepare for interviews with other companies that do not necessarily operate in the Tech sector. “ The idea is to offer practical advice and answer all their questions », Explains Anne-Marie Husser, HR Director of Amazon France.
The event is of course 100% free. To participate, simply go to the dedicated website and register before the fateful date of Thursday September 16, 10:30 a.m.
The origins of Amazon Career Day
Amazon Career Day is dedicated to employment and aims to allow everyone to find answers to their questions about the recruitment processes of large companies or even to find their way. Indeed, the event is open to young graduates and students from Grandes Écoles, but also to more senior profiles, people looking for work or those who are questioning their professional orientation.
For Anne-Marie Husser, this event fits perfectly with the group’s recruitment dynamics. “ At Amazon, we recruit all types of profiles: people who have no diploma, no professional experience, recent graduates from Grandes Écoles, experienced people, career change or at the end of their career. We are not targeting a typical profile, but really any type of person who is looking for a job. »
This very proactive approach is also reflected in another system deployed by Amazon: the Amazon Future Engineer which raises awareness among young people, from primary school to baccalaureate, about Tech and coding. It is mainly aimed at REP and REP+ students. This system also makes it possible to encourage young girls, under-represented in the world of Tech, to study in this universe, by granting them scholarships.
